MUZZELITE Ruger 10/22 Bullpup conversion Kit

The most striking feature of the MUZZELITE bullpup stock, when attached to your action, is the overall length of 26-1/2". This allows you to carry the rifle with much greater mobility. Whether your sport is hunting or plinking, the MUZZELITE Ruger 10/22 Bullpup Stock will convert a long rifle into a compact weapon system in just a matter of minutes!

The stock itself has fixed sights which are adjustable for windage and elevation. The windage is done with the rear sight and the elevation is done with the front sight. The stock also comes equipped with a scope mount which attaches in the handle.

Construction is of fiberglass reinforced plastic and fits stander barrels and heavyweight barrels (with minor modifications).

    Required Allen wrench is included.

    Disclaimer:
Muzzelite stocks have been a safe and effective alternative stock for many years.  While there have been no reports of injury, it has come to our attention that in some cases, dimensional differences in receivers may allow some rifles to move within a Muzzelite stock.  In that event, an unintended discharge is theoretically possible.  If you have any question about your rifle in its Muzzelite stock, please call 1-800-428-9394.  If you have concerns, we can help you arrange to ship your rifle for examination.  Shipping costs would initially be borne by you.  If your rifle and receiver combination permits any movement of the rifle within the stock, we will upgrade your stock with two alternative parts, re-install the rifle, test it for function, and return it.  If your rifle requires upgraded parts, the upgrade will be done without charge and your shipping costs refunded to you.

    WARNING

To comply with Federal Law, not only must your rifle have a 16 inch or longer barrel, but the overall length of the weapon must be 26 inches or greater.  Placing a rifle with a relatively short barrel in a Muzzelite stock may result in violation of the 26 inch length restriction, even though the barrel length remains in compliance.  Muzzelite stocks are 23 inches long, and so require a minimum of 3 inches of barrel extension beyond the stock.

It is your obligation to measure the overall length of your weapon, out of the stock, to ensure it will remain in compliance with the 26 inch length restriction when placed in a Muzzelite stock.  If your weapon has a barrel that complies, but the overall weapon length will not meet the 26 inch restriction if placed in a Muzzelite stock, do NOT, repeat NOT, assemble your weapon in the Muzzelite stock.

Remember that these restrictions are only those imposed by Federal law.  Some states or localities may impose additional restrictions.  It is your obligation to research ALL laws applicable to your locale, and to remain in compliance with ALL applicable laws, not just Federal restrictions.

This notice does not apply to any NFA weapon to which length restrictions are inapplicable, which has been lawfully approved for possession by the BATFE and local governments.

Again, it is your obligation to ensure that your weapon remains in compliance with ALL applicable length restrictions.  Muzzelite is not responsible for your assembly of non-compliant weapons.

    Interesting option for fun plinking

I've owned my bullpup for my 10/22 since 1989 and it has worked according to its design potential. It had some flaws such as the pistol grip being 1/4" too far back so that it interferes with the majority of the quality high cap mags and the overly tall handle/scope mount system. The "safety" switch on the grip can be easily overcome with finger pressure on the trigger so should not be relied on in lieu of the gun's actual safety. (People should know that anyway.) With mine, I've found that the trigger pull difficulties discussed on the net are overcome by making sure the guide rails of the trigger assembly are highly polished then lubed with a white lithium paste lubricant. (A little goes a long way.) OVERALL - a fairly good platform that can be modified to suit your needs.

    A Cautious Buy

Its a decent buy. It will take a significant amount of alteration, both to the trigger assembly and the pistol grip. Butler Creek mags will not fit. The trigger assembly sucks. It jams up the Ruger trigger and flexes too much. It does look cooler than, most bullpups.

    Loving It!

Love this stock! install was a breeze but edges of two halves had to be scraped w/ knife edge to remove rough edges. Sighting is next to impossible if you wear bifocals and using stock sights but easily remedied with a red dot or reflex sight. Expected FTF with trigger mechanism but after running over 300 rounds through it only had one FTF and that was a magazine feed problem. if you dont like the height of your scope you can drop it 3/8" by using a standard AR15/M16 carry handle rail. 50rd drum mags will fit but are nasty uncomfortable when trying to reach the grip/trigger. Wife loves the size and is not intimidated to pick it up and shoot like she would be with a bigger/longer rifle. She even asked me to teach her how to strip/clean it before she shot it and is excited about getting her own and accessorizing. This stock makes a great addition to an already fun/reliable platform. only drawback I see is stock is a little loose along seam on bottom of butt stock and using 1 flathead screw and the rest allen just seemed like a design oversight but not enough to stop me from recommending.

    Used for Over a Year

I have owned this and kept this stock on for over a year now, and it is still a delight, so much so that I came back to this website just to write a review. For $110, compared to any other fold-able or otherwise modded stock, this is the best out of five I have put on my favorite weapon, the 10/22. I use the most dependable 25 round magazine, Eagle Creek, and with a slight modification, it fits. Take a small drill and a pair of needle nose pliers to the rear bottom part of the pistol grip, and remove just the bare minimum amount of plastic to make it fit. It even holds the magazine more securely after you do this. Make sure you smooth out the plastic from your handiwork or you will cut or scrape your pinky knuckle pulling it out! Another mod I did was attaching a rail underneath the fore-grip with two wood screws for a laser sight. There is still enough room for your hand(I have big hands). Use a drill bit slightly smaller than the screws you put in. The last thing is my only complaint about this stock. The sights that come with this suck. You can barely see the rear sight even with reflective paint(I tried). I put a red dot scope on it for a bit, but it wasn't quite right. I ended up using a 10X scope and a laser sight. This thing is perfect and it looks really bad-ass for a weapon with such a small caliber. It's great for small game, and maybe someone killed something larger with it recently. That person might be enjoying red meat.

    Makes .22 Caliber Fun Again!

    4 out of 5
    Location: SLC, UT
    Date: April 5, 2012

For most people, the cheapness of .22 caliber plinking is a real draw, but most .22 caliber rifles are the opposite of cool, they look more like something you inherited from your grandfather than an exciting gun. This stock completely revitalized my plinking hobby, made shooting .22 cal fun again, and enabled me to teach my small children about gun safety and proper form and shooting techniques (standard length rifle stocks are too long for their little arms, they could barely reach the trigger, let alone the fore-end). The sight mounting rail is rigid enough and holds a sight-in indefinitely. The high strength composite is also very tough and dimensionally stable over varying temperatures. This stock has absorbed all the abuse I could throw at it, and still functions flawlessly.

I had to cut the pistol grip to get a 30 round- yes they did warn me. No big deal though. It is fun and that was why I bought it.
