Leupold 2-7x33 rimfire scope made a nice gift
I purchased one of these scopes to put on a .22 rf Ruger American as a birthday gift for my wife. She is pleased with it, and therefore I am happy with it. Excellent clarity and accuracy on our club's 100-yard range. (You may have less success if you don't lap the rings first.)
VX-freedom 2-7x33 rimfire moa is a Great Rimfire Scope
Mounted the scope on a CZ455 American. I used Warne Rimfire rings in medium height (model 721M). This combination fit perfect with plenty of bolt handle clearance.
Leupold VX Freedom 2-7x33 rimfire - Good Quality, Good Price, and American Made
At this time, I have not yet been able to shoot with this scope, but the product itself arrived quickly and as described. I am very impressed with the clarity of the scope. I mounted this scope on a CZ 452 left hand with medium height warne rimfire scope rings. With this mount, the bolt does not contact the scope, but it is pretty close. I decided to stick with the setup because I like the medium scope height, though it will take some practice to work the bolt quickly. Overall I think this is a great optic at a reasonable price, and I would recommend its purchase for a rimfire rifle.
Yes
I replaced my four power scope with this scope. So far, I have been very pleased. It has enabled me to get on target on things up close, and I also can see targets better at a distance. It is a good value.
Freedom Scope A+
I bought one to replace a Bushnell 4x on a 71 Marlin 336 .30-.30. The added power made it much nicer for my old eyes, and the 33mm clears the rear iron site no problem and fits and looks good on the rifle. Glass and duplex crosshair is bright and clear. Mounted it on Leupold rail and mounts. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd one for my 2013 Marlin 336C .30-.30. (same mounts) Talking to factory customer reps is a pleasure; you can't go wrong with this product. I was able to get rubber dust covers from the factory. The only negative thing I can drum up is the matte finish is super flat black. A gloss scope would go much nicer with the guns' bluing, but for the price and hunting doesn't matter.
Great rimfire scope for the money
I mounted this in groove & clamp-style rings (not my favorite way to mount a scope but the only way to mount a scope on this particular rifle without drilling & tapping) on a Remington 521 bolt action. This is a general usage .22 that gets much use, from plinking and taking care of pests around the yard to coon hunting at night. When coon hunting, the shots aren't long, but good clarity is a must. I was unsure what to expect from the newer Freedom series, I have many Leupolds, but this is my first Freedom series scope. I am not disappointed; it is quite evident with pretty forgiving eye relief and much room in the eye box. I think the quality of this scope outweighs its modest price. I am working on a rimfire Remington target rifle currently. I have given much thought as to what optic to put on it. After my experience with the Freedom series 2-7x scope, I have decided to go with the 3-9x scope from the same series. I would rather have higher magnification, but I am so pleased with this series that I will stay with it.
Great quality, great deal!
I needed a scope for my new CZ-USA 457 American .22LR. Since I own six other Leupold scopes and have had excellent service from them, including a trip back to the factory for the damage I had caused to one scope (which incidentally was returned good-as-new at no charge), I decided that adding a Leupold scope was the best option. I elected the VX-Freedom 2-7x as I can't imagine a scenario where you would require a higher magnification on a .22LR rifle. I mounted the scope in Leupold rings and headed for the range. After zeroing in at 25 yards, I moved back to 50 yards and fired several strings of 10 rounds, each fitting into a group the size of a half-dollar. All this is using my regular .22LR ammo (Remington Golden Bullet 40gr plated). No scope adjustment was required between the 25 and 50-yard line. I ran out of time before being able to check the bullet drop feature of the MOA reticle. Elevation and windage adjustments were crisp and held constant after a light tap on the adjustment turret after each adjustment. The one improvement I would like to see Leupold make to this and every scope in their line would be to laser etch a line on the tube that aligns with the split on the ring to facilitate reticle alignment when mounting the scope and eliminate the need to purchase leveling systems or guesswork. Great product, great price/value.
Top shelf scope
I bought this scope for my grandson's Savage rascal target XP Now I need several for myself to replace other brands of rimfire scopes. The size isn't to big Clarity is near perfect Adjustment knobs have an excellent click to feel the move Quality to price This is a good deal The only way to make this a better deal is to make them free
Typical Leupold Quality
This was purchased for a Ruger 10/22. It was mounted using Vortex Pro series low Picatinny rings and a Tactical Solutions Picatinny base. This scope is everything you'd expect from a Leupold except the price. The glass is clear and beautiful, the reticle crisp, and both eyepiece focus and magnification adjustments are silky smooth, and easy to operate. The only thing close to a gripe I have is that the windage and elevation adjustment clicks aren't quite as crisp and positive as I'd like them to be, and the adjustment turrets are polymer. That said, they are fully functional and work just fine. This scope is also several ounces lighter than a similar 2-7 power scope I was considering at a similar price point from another manufacturer while being made in the USA instead of overseas. The weight savings and US production at a slight price advantage sealed the deal.
