Your first and potentially only optic for the pdp

Holosun has truly outdone themselves with their latest offering, and I say this as a first-time buyer of their products. When I bought my PDP about seven months ago, it came with an Ameriglo Haven and an adapter plate. Initially, I planned to use the free RDS until I could get an RMR. However, after exploring the latest options in the market, I came across Holosun's new additions to their SCS line at the 2023 SHOT Show. The features, like no need for an adapter plate, a slim profile compatible with stock height sights, and the unique SCS features, immediately caught my attention. For a few months, the product seemed unavailable, but I finally managed to get one. The SCS PDP's design seamlessly integrates with the slide, almost appearing as an original part of the gun. A notable detail is the CNC machined contour on the side, which aligns perfectly with the slide's front and rear, providing a comfortable grip for racking the slide. After a minor adjustment, the dot has maintained zero perfectly. I settled on the dot+circle option, which occupies about a quarter of the glass area, ideal for my CCW preference. The sight's width matches the slide, offering a clear view downrange. The brightness adjustment based on ambient light works flawlessly, with instant brightening in increased light and a smoother transition when it gets darker. The only consideration for potential users is the time to acquire the dot. The smaller glass size means less optic surface, which can make locating the dot challenging. It's crucial to practice drawing from various positions to ensure accuracy. If you're not proficient with iron sights, a larger optic might be more suitable. So far, my experience with the SCS PDP has been exceptional, and I'll be sure to update my review if anything changes. The ordering process through Optics Planet was smooth, with reasonable shipping times. Overall, I highly recommend doing thorough research and choosing an optic that suits your needs and skills. For me, the SCS PDP might just be the only RDS I'll ever need for my PDP.
