    Perfect fit and function

I recently acquired the optic for my Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS, drawn by its design that fits directly into the pre-machined slide channel, eliminating the need for an adapter plate. This not only simplifies the installation process with just two screws (which are included) but also enhances the mount's stability. The optic seamlessly matches the gun's slide finish and allows for the use of standard height iron sights as a backup. I upgraded to TruGlo tritium night sights for improved visibility under any lighting conditions and initially zeroed the optic with a red laser bore sighter from Amazon, requiring minimal adjustments at the range for accuracy. The optic features dual reticles: a 32 MOA circle and a 2 MOA dot, with the ability to use both simultaneously, offering flexibility in targeting. I'm exploring which reticle suits best for different shooting scenarios, favoring the green reticle for its visibility. Despite the optic's two brightness settings, the lower one could be dimmer, and the single multi-function button is precise but prevents accidental adjustments. Powered by a self-contained battery and solar cells, battery issues are a thing of the past. Years ago, as a Master class competitor in PPC, I've seen my skills wane with age, yet the optic has significantly improved my accuracy by solving the depth of field focus issue, a boon for my vision. It's clear why optics are a common sight at the range. Opting for simplicity over complexity, I've found the optic's straightforwardness to be ideal, complementing my Glock 19's setup with tritium sights, a performance trigger, and focusing on my trigger pull to enhance my shooting accuracy.

Great dot & solid construction & very, very low

've had a positive experience with my three Holosun optics (two 503CU models and a 510GR Elite), finding them all to be exceptionally reliable. The SCS model has largely followed suit, with the primary issue being the low charge indicator activating when changing reticles, a result of leaving it on in my safe. This is partly due to my reliance on artificial light, which doesn't charge it as effectively. To remedy this, I've started turning it off when storing it and occasionally placing it near a window for better charging. Despite this, the SCS has been a solid performer, even though I've recently shifted to using a P365 X-Macro for easier concealment. My only minor gripe is the mismatch between the SCS's contours and the slide serrations on my Gen 4 G19 MOS, though this has no impact on its performance or accuracy. A significant advantage of the SCS is its ability to co-witness with OEM Glock sights. After transitioning from Trijicon Suppressor Height Sights and a Vortex Viper setup to the SCS, I found the suppressor sights too tall and switched to Trijicon Bright & Tough Night Sights, which proved to be an excellent combination. I'm enthusiastic about the SCS's performance and hope Holosun continues to produce the open emitter version, as I plan to replace my Romeo Zero Elite with an SCS model for my P365 X-Macro, still preferring it over closed emitter models.

    excellent value

This optic stands out for its clarity and ease of locating the dot, surpassing competitors in these aspects. Installation and zeroing are straightforward, and it has maintained its zero perfectly over 500 rounds. However, there are minor drawbacks related to the provided screws. Holosun supplies only the necessary two screws, posing an inconvenience if one is damaged or lost—replacing them can be costly and time-consuming, as I've experienced firsthand with an older Holosun 507C model. Another issue is the excessive pre-applied Loc-tite on the screws, which complicates the installation process. The thick Loc-tite makes it challenging to differentiate between proper threading and cross-threading. I prefer using clean screws for a trial fit and then applying liquid Loc-tite for a secure and correct installation, despite the cure time. Despite these criticisms, the optic offers excellent value. I highly recommend it and plan to purchase another, confident in suggesting it to friends.

Great fit, simple operation, reticle is plenty bright.

I own several Holosun optics, including models with both open (407C, 507C, 407K, 507K) and closed (EPS, EPS Carry, 403G) emitters, all of which have performed flawlessly in training and competitions. Recently, for my Glock G47 MOS, I experimented with fitting a 507C using the factory MOS plate, but found the fit oversized and the plate flimsy. Despite this, I appreciated its functionality but desired a smaller, more integrated option that wouldn't obstruct iron sights. Based on Aaron Cowan's positive review of the new Holosun SCS for Glock MOS—whose Sage Dynamics tests I trust and have based many purchases on—I decided to try it. The SCS fit perfectly on the G47 MOS slide, maintained an unobstructed view of the factory iron sights, and offered a bright green reticle that adjusts well to ambient light, an improvement over the 407/507 series. Though the green reticle is brighter than I'd usually prefer, it's comparably effective to the EPS's 6 MOA dot, which I like. I find both green and red reticles usable, with the choice mostly affecting visibility against certain color backgrounds. For an in-depth comparison, I recommend deltathirtyfour's YouTube video on ACOG optic reticle choices, which illustrates situations where green might wash out. Overall, I rate the SCS MOS 5/5 across the board. A note to new users: the power button is well-hidden, so consulting the manual is essential to locate it.

Upgrade for my g19 mos gen5 - green dot

I switched from a Vortex Venom 6 MOA on my G19 MOS Gen5, initially set up for home defense, to a Holosun SCS MOS as I started carrying it more frequently after getting my CCW permit. I was looking for elevated sights for backup/co-witnessing, as I found the Venom effective but challenging to align due to my cross-eye dominance and astigmatism, which also caused the red dot to bloom. Green dots are easier for my eyes, especially at my age in the early 50s. Removing the Vortex and installing the Holosun was straightforward, and I used blue lock-tite and a torque screwdriver for both. The Holosun started working immediately, and its 32 MOA circle with a center dot has been fantastic. It's much easier for me to pick up the green dot during dry fire practice and when drawing from my IWB holster. The Holosun SCS MOS is low enough to co-witness with the stock Glock sights, eliminating the need for elevated sights. I'm looking forward to taking it to the range for live fire practice and fine-tuning the zero on a warm, less busy day.

    Beautful MOS pistol optic

    Date: February 16, 2024

This sight mounts flawlessly on my Glock, offering a perfect co-witness with standard height sights and maintaining a minimal height over bore. The sight picture and glass quality are ideal for a pistol optic, giving the impression of an EOTech "dot" on my Glock. It's an excellent investment for Glock MOS users. However, I have a concern: after leaving the sight in direct Florida sunlight for about 15-20 minutes on an 80-degree day, the metal became quite hot. I noticed the previously clear glass developed a pinkish tinge in the center, surrounded by normal clear glass. While this didn't affect the green dot or visibility, it raised concerns about potential heat damage. I'm not an expert, but I've reached out to Holosun to initiate a warranty process to understand what happened. Hoping for the best.

This green dot sight has quickly become my favorite. It seamlessly co-witnesses with the standard Glock sights, thanks to its design that doesn't require a mounting plate. It fits perfectly onto the Glock MOS, aligning flawlessly with no gaps on any side – just like a glove. While I haven't had it long enough to fully assess the durability of the internal, non-removable rechargeable battery, I'm quite optimistic about its performance. I can confidently recommend this optic for Glock users; it's a choice you won't regret!

Perfect red dot for glock mos

    5 out of 5
    Location:
    Date: February 16, 2024

This optic is impressively bright in daylight and fits perfectly on the Gen 5 Glock 19 MOS. It offers the flexibility to manually adjust the brightness and switch between circle dot and dot-only modes. Remarkably, it's entirely solar-powered, functioning like magic without a battery. The sight is always on, but there's an option to turn off the dot for long-term storage, though it's hardly necessary due to the longevity of a single solar charge. I find this dot to be excellent and hope to see the SCS line of red dots expanded to fit other slide cuts and pistol models.
