Customer Ratings & Reviews
Love this fab defense recoil reducing stock
I use mine on my tactical stock 12 gauge and my modular rifle in 7.62×51; both accept AR15 stocks. When shooting the shotgun, you learn to loosen your grip on the weapon and let it move. Recoil is reduced to the point that you aren’t aware of it. Shooting 48 rounds minimum, I get beat up a little without the GL-Shock. With it, the worst that happens is that I get the giggles. It’s like shooting a 22LR instead of a 12 gauge. Results on my 7.62×51 are similar. I know the rifle and what to expect, but with the Fab Defense butt-stock, it doesn’t happen. I get to laughing and bang away, basically no effective recoil. Love it!!
Awesome recoil stock!
I stuck this on a RI VR80 shotgun and helped with recoil. I like the little hidden compartment in the stock to put stuff in. Very easy to install, make sure you pull up on the lever to slide the pin into the store. Works as advertised!
Great AR-15 Stock
Outstanding AR stock for large bore rifles. Product is of good quality and noticeably softens recoil. Provided a modest increase in rate of fire. Tested the water-tight battery compartment before installation; worked just fine.
Solid and very comfortable.
Mounted on a dedicated 3G platform, the feel is solid with a very comfortable cheek weld. The fit is perfect with absolutely no wiggle. It might be my imagination, but I genuinely believe there is an improvement in follow-up shot speed. I have also perceived a slightly more linear target transition between shots.
Fab Gl Shock stock great for an AR-10 in 308
I tried this stock out yesterday on an AR-308 and I can say is "wow"! While I could feel the rifle moving thru the store yet, I felt no harsh recoil on my shoulder. Being recoil sensitive due to a previous shoulder injury, I found the Fab Defense stock to be a welcome relief with no pain afterward and no residual pain today, a day later. I will be getting more Gl shocks.
fab defense shock absorbing stock kicks but.
This is the best AR15 stock on the market.i have many stocks, and this ìs better than anything Magpul has to offer. They make an e excellent product. I would recommend this to any build you are doing. Even better with 308 platform
GL Shock Stock AR-15/M16/M4 Recoil Stock
I bought this stock based on the advice of a friend who has one on his .50 Beowulf carbine. Needing a new supply for my new.50 Beowulf I purchased one and installed it. The stock was easy to install on my MIL-spec extension tube and does not rattle at all. The recoil reducing feature of this stock does absorb the sharp recoil of the .50 Beowulf as opposed to the standard carbine stocks. Fit & finish is comparable to MagPul stocks and -- money well spent. I'd purchase another if someone wants to buy me another .50 Beowulf. HA!
Does exactly what it's supposed to
I originally built my go-to lower with a Vltor Emod/A5 stock+buffer, which does all right for light-recoil calibers, but when I started shooting .458 SOCOM, the recoil was enough to leave a bruise on my shoulder after every session. I promptly ordered this stock to see if it would help, and I can happily report 100% success. I was able to burn through 80 rounds of .458 SOCOM quite comfortably in just a thin technical shirt, and my shoulder still feels normal. I still have to get used to the comb, which is slightly slimmer than the Emod (and I don't see that the optional cheek rest would have helped much). The stock also has a bit of play on the mil-spec A5 buffer tube, but it's not a rattle--it just shifts a bit if you change the angle you press at. Thicker commercial buffer tubes will probably have a more solid fit. Also, on the A5 buffer tube, this stock won't quite collapse to the shortest position (which I never use anyway).
I have two of these; one on an AK and one on my Remington R-25 308 (I installed a collapsible). The sling mount is excellent. for the price, they should have included one QD swivel, though. On one of the stocks I received, the retaining cap on the adjustment lever was cracked in half. With it gone, the stock still functions but does not "easily" adjust positions. Not a big enough deal to warrant returning it for me. I just put that one on my AK since I don't need to quickly adjust that one (it's only a range plinker WASR 10). But, If this were to go on my SHTF gun, I'd be upset. For the price, I expect the stock to not be broken when I receive it. The feel of it is excellent, the angle of the stock is similar to my Magpul, and the cheek weld is comfy. Whether it reduces recoil significantly is in the eye of the beholder. I feel it turns the punch more into a shove of the same force. It's a comfortable stock, recoil reduction or not.
