Fun for two at the range!

Every time I bring one of these targets to the pistol range, the people in the next lane always ask me where I got it from! I've played with a few different friends, and while one of them was much better than me and beat me badly (which I expected), most shooters find it to be a fun challenge. If your skill levels are similar, it can be a great way to have fun... or it can be frustrating! It's a nice concept and a good way to practice precision.

    Birchwood Casey Battle Targets!

I tried these targets for the first time yesterday and they were an absolute blast! My wife and I competed against each other and I won by just one shot. We set up the targets at 5 yards and used a Ruger SR22 and CCI Standard .22LR ammo. Each of us got a total of 30 rounds, shooting 5 rounds per turn and taking turns loading the mags. We set the targets up in the vertical orientation, but we thought it might be more even on elevation to set them up horizontally next time. We had a great time and can't wait to bring these targets to the range again! I'll definitely be buying more of these targets.

    Battleship at the Range

The addition of these Battle Targets, along with the golf targets, has made bringing new shooters to the range much more enjoyable. Are you looking to introduce someone to shooting but worried about their apprehension around firearms? These targets, combined with an accurate 22 rifle, can help ease their nerves and provide a fun shooting competition in an old-fashioned board game style. Watching their faces light up as they sink your ships is priceless! I can't emphasize enough how much fun these targets are, and I recommend them to both novice and expert shooters. Give them a try and see for yourself!

Great way to add variety and fun at the range!

Looking for an alternative to the standard B-27 silhouette targets? The Birchwood Casey Battle Targets might be just what you need! Although they're a bit small at around 12"x18", we had a great time using them at our indoor range set at 7 yards. The splatter back makes it easy to see the shots, and the alternating shots aspect of this type of shooting adds an extra level of excitement and challenge to "normal" target practice. My LEO brother and I had a friendly competition using .45ACP and .40S&W, and both worked well. We even had another customer at the range ask us where we got them! One thing that makes these targets interesting is the variety of target patterns. Some ships require successive shots horizontally, some vertically, and some ships only need a single shot. These variants require different corrections and skills to master, which sets them apart from other targets on the market that may appear similar. Overall, I highly recommend these targets to anyone looking for something new and exciting to try with a friend at the range!

My new go to target for shooting

Looking for a way to spice up your shooting routine? The Birchwood Casey Battle Targets might be just what you need! These targets offer a refreshing change from the usual paper bullseye targets. With sixteen different targets, the Battle Targets add an element of strategy to your shooting practice. Each ship has a certain number of targets that must be hit before the ship sinks. It's similar to the classic game of Battleship, and the Battleship target even takes five hits to sink. One of the best things about these targets is the "splatter" effect they produce when hit. A white mark appears around the point of impact, allowing you to see exactly where you hit the target, even from a distance. I've used 9MM ammunition with these targets and they work great. Using these targets makes shooting even more enjoyable and adds a healthy level of competition when shooting with a friend. I honestly can't find any downside to using them. They've become my go-to target for shooting, and I highly recommend giving them a try!

    Fun, Easy-to-Play, and Good Competition

Looking for a way to switch up your target shooting experience? These Battleship "splatter" targets might be just what you need! Pros: The "splatter" marks that appear on the target make it easy to see your hits, and the bright, rich colors are highly visible in both sunlight and dusk. To play the game as instructed by Birchwood, we cut the target in half and placed each half on separate stands. This allowed us to alternate shots without the need to physically move around. The game itself is fun and easy to play, and tie-breaker rules are included. Both new and seasoned shooters enjoy playing this game at our target range. We've also found that splitting your shooters into teams and alternating shooters each time a magazine is emptied adds an extra level of excitement to the competition. Cons: There are only two downsides to this target game: first, the dots on each ship are quite small and difficult to see beyond 15 yards. Second, it would be helpful if there were a perforated line down the center of the targets to make it easier to take them apart for team shooting. Overall: We've had so much fun with these targets that we'll be purchasing another package in the future, especially if they go on sale. In-store prices can be higher than necessary, so I recommend purchasing from Amazon or another online retailer with a discount.

These are my favorite targets! They're incredibly fun to use, especially when shooting with a skilled friend. A word of advice: stick to using a .22 or else it can become quite costly quickly.

    Great Gift Idea

I took my brother out shooting today using these targets. While I'm not sure if it was due to the cold weather or just the nature of the product, we noticed some flaking and found that the paint or material on the backing can easily scratch off. Despite these minor issues, these targets were the most fun we've had target shooting in a long time. They're easy to see at longer distances, with clear markings when hit. I highly recommend these targets if you're looking for something different than the usual paper targets. They're incredibly enjoyable and I would definitely buy them again. They also make a great gift for other shooting enthusiasts.

It's wonderful to bring the family along for a practice session, as it provides entertainment and engagement for both younger ones and adults alike. However, the only downside is that the dots on the target are somewhat small, making them difficult to see from a distance without a scope. Nevertheless, shooting these targets remains a truly enjoyable experience.

    What a fun target

These targets are not your average bulls-eye or silhouette targets, offering a more exciting shooting experience. Despite the challenge of shooting from 50 yards away, we found it to be very enjoyable, especially with our scopes. To mix things up, we plan to try shooting from 35 yards next time, hoping to find a happy medium between our previous attempts. Even in my basement target range, which is just 30 feet away, these targets remain entertaining when using pellet pistols. With Minnesota's harsh winters, I prefer to avoid the outdoor range when it's -40 degrees, making these indoor targets a great option for year-round fun.

I bought these targets for my grandson and I. He is just getting interested in hunting and shooting. He and I play sink the battleship with pellet guns. It is teaching him to concentrate on being accurate, plus its fun for him to beat "grandpa". They are great targets because you get immediate feedback. You can see where your shot hit.

Exciting New Twist On A Classic Old Boardgame

One of my buddies brought these out to our target practice today, and we had a blast (no pun intended). Played in two 2-man teams, taking five shots each and rotating around with the same rifle. Looking forward to doing that again with a different firearm next time (to keep it varied and exciting, you know?) Waiting until your team loses and then switching to a 12 gauge shotgun to 'call down a tactical nuke on the enemy' isn't going to be allowed next time. :)
