Best deal on a Vortex Ppitfire 3x for sale

I purchased this optic after watching a few YouTubers review it. I was looking for a compact, low-power prism sight with the right reticle. I have several ACOGS on my other rifles, but I was looking for a less expensive option this time. Once you own an ACOG, it is hard to settle for anything less,... well, at least for me. What got my attention with this Vortex optic was its clean, sleek, compact design, magnification level, and reticle. The ring dot ballistic reticle is almost the same as my favorite AGOG, and the subtension values are just right for a short to a mid-range carbine. Focusing the diopter to my eye yielded a very sharp, crisp, image and the illumination levels are perfect. Without illumination, the etched reticle is black and very precise. I am totally impressed with this little chunk of an optic. The packaging was also very professional, with rubber lens caps, a low mount for other firearms, a battery, and a wrench for tightening the mount, adjusting the W/E, and removing the battery compartment. Vortex has a winner here.

There is an old saying, 'If you compete, or if you are betting your life on your weapon, the optics should cost at least what the weapon costs. If you are serious, three optics come immediately to mind. This is not there, however it is close, Good clarity, holds POI well, seems very durable. they are nipping at the heels of the 'good stuff'. Picked this up for my female partner, for a carbine build I just finished, it is a nice piece of gear. I have used EOTech and then Aimpoint for years, and this does not disappoint. I gave it 4 stars not from any major shortcoming but from it playing in the same waters as very serious gear. That is a good rating. If I changed anything, it would be the reticle, but it is very useable. I do not regret the choice. A few years will tell how it sits in company of gear that can take heavy use.

    Nice Vortex addition

I have multiple Vortex products. Always happy with them, and their customer service is top-notch. I bought this for an AR15 that needed a repair, so I haven't paired them yet. My other AR15 has optics already, and I didn't want to change it out. I have used this multiple times on my DD5 .308 at the range. This is not an ideal scope on an AR10, and I realize that, but I just wanted to test it. It was incredible. The illuminated reticle in two colors is crisp, depending on which background you shoot at. Very easy to adjust the windage and elevation. I wish all scopes had the eye relief this model does. I have had several enlisted military people use this, and they are fans.

    Amazing optic, Great Value

I just finished building my AR... 16" barrel, compensated, 1:7" twist, chrome-lined, tactical trigger, Magpul stuff... Whatever. It was a hair over 6 pounds with flip-up irons. I didn't want to put a 3 lb optic on it. I also don't care for red dots, as my older eyes make the dots...fuzzy. This is a prism optic, and the lines are super sharp. Also, the adjustable illumination(and color) is excellent for when I am dinging black painted plates at 100-300 yards. The only thing that I have to note is that it is a closer eye relief optic as opposed to a red dot. Perfect for Carbine AR stocks, a little more tricky on A2. Lastly... I tried this on a friends Tavor. The Vortex Spitfire 3x prism scope was MADE for that rifle. Great price, and a good weight. Lifetime warranty. I just bought my second.

    I Want to Like It

There are two faulty issues with the Vortex spitfire 3x scope but first what I like. Prism, three power, optical adjustment. I have sold both of my ACOGs because if you don't have 20/20 vision, you are out of luck. I have 20/30 enough to shoot without corrective glasses etc. so I need my scope to accommodate. I don't think my adjusting the "reticle focus" as it is called would affect the field of view, BUT I had to place the scope as far rearward as possible, and I still have to push my head forward to get a full field of view. Not good. Secondly, the reticle is not trued to the perpendicular; it is slanted to the right. I have a newly patented laser product that proves this, so don't just assume some yahoo can't line up a reticle. I don't plan on returning; price is right for what you get.

I really like this vortex spitfire 3x prism scope

The reticle offset is minimal, and I should not have mentioned it. The point is, unlike a rifle scope, the tube cannot be rotated for any correction. Also, the mounts can have an effect while the scope itself may be perfect. I really like this vortex spitfire 3x prism scope and find the clarity superb. I have only used it to 100 yards.

Vortex spitfire 3x prism scope is Pretty impressive!

The Vortex Optics Spitfire 3x has a really nice reticle. However, the reticle is not very visible indoors without green or red lighting. Outside, in any daylight, the reticle is very visible and sharp without lighting. With the reticle lighting on, the reticle is beautiful. There is no washing out or blurring of the reticle if you are in focus (and outside - being indoors in poor light can cause blurring, this can occur even with red dots). At 15.4oz, the Spitfire 3x is almost 2-3x heavier than most red dots. The glass is Crystal Clear, a very crisp, zoomed image. I wouldn't suggest it for CQC/CQB, but if it's your pick - stick with it and train with it because it has a little bit of a learning curve. It is not as 'quick' as a red dot because you will be required to have a steady hand for a good sight picture. Like with any scope, my situational awareness feels lower with the Spitfire. I need an RMR style Red dot for the top now ;)

The vortex spitfire 3x is Outstanding quality, beautiful glass, and an ultra-clear reticle either light or not. All the advantage of a 3x scope tied in with all the advantage of a red dot, with the clarity and feel of an ACOG. The reticle gets super bright with no starburst, and on high is visible in low light even to those with bad eyes. The optic has a great focus ring and makes the reticle great for use outdoors with or without the power on. A little on the heavy side, but still lighter than a red dot and magnifier setup. I will own another one of these in the future for sure. Vortex never fails to impress me.

Perfect optic for any type of shooting

    5 out of 5

The Vortex Spitfire 3x Prism is a great optic for just about any shooting. I've shot about 500 rounds with this optic on my rifle, and it performs well under any condition. I thought having a fixed power optic wouldn't be very flexible when transitioning from close range to mid-range shooting, but it turns out this thing works great for it all. I shot targets at 50 yards to get used to the sight, then moved out to about 150 yards. It worked great at both distances. I was shooting 6-inch steel plates and didn't have a problem seeing the target or getting really nice groups. The eye relief was a little less than what I expected at first, but I was able to move the sight back one notch on the rail, and it worked really well then without feeling cramped for space. It could be a little lighter, but as compact, as it is, it's able to balance its weight in the middle of your rifle, so you don't really feel the weight on either end. The illuminated reticle option is something I didn't think I would use, but it actually is pretty nice in cloudy or low light conditions as well as brightening the reticle on bright sunny days. The etched glass reticle is a nice feature, so you're not constantly relying on a battery and lights to protect your sight. I've had everything on my ARs from Nikon scopes, night force scopes, and Eotech optics. This is a good combination of a scope and a compact close-quarters optic. I'm definitely going to keep this one on my rifle. This is the first vortex I've owned and for...

Vortex 3x Spitfire Illuminated Reticle -- Best Deal for Price

    Location:
    Date: December 11, 2019

I have received and fired my new Vortex 3x prism illuminated reticle scope and could not be happier. The lens is bright and clear, and the reticle is razor-sharp and easily seen day or night. Should the battery go dead, a black reticle is seen? Eye relief is a generous 2.8 inches and makes for a comfortable and stable cheek weld (the ACOG has a 1.9-inch eye relief). Unlike traditional elongated scopes, the prism system enables a compact form factor that looks great on the ar15 receiver. The scope appears very sturdy and solidly made with a pleasing look and finish. The knobs turn stiffly with firm clicks. No nonsense high-quality metal cables and clamps allow the towers caps to be easily removed while keeping them from being lost. The integral scope and mount design eliminate the need for separate scope rings making for a stronger system and reduced cost. Even the spring-loaded lens caps are well made and have convenient finger tabs at 4 and 8 o'clock that enable them to be flicked open with pleasing precision. The 349-dollar before incentives price combined with the outstanding Vortex lifetime defect and accidental damage warranty makes the Vortex 3x prism scope a memorial feel-good purchase for which one can always be thankful.
