    The Streamlight Microstream Overview:

If you're in the market for a compact and reliable flashlight, the Streamlight Microstream should definitely be on your radar. This tiny but mighty light packs a punch, delivering a bright and focused beam in a package small enough to fit in your pocket. In this review, we'll take a closer look at what sets the Microstream apart from other flashlights and why it's worth your consideration.

First off, let's talk about the size. The Microstream is incredibly small, measuring just 3.87 inches in length and 0.5 inches in diameter. Despite its small size, it still manages to pack in a powerful LED that can produce up to 50 lumens of brightness. This makes it perfect for everyday carry, as it's easy to keep in your pocket, bag, or on your keychain.

One of the standout features of the Microstream is its high-quality construction. It's made from aircraft-grade aluminum and features a Type II Military Spec anodized finish that's both durable and resistant to corrosion. The light is also impact-resistant, so you can count on it to withstand daily wear and tear.

Another advantage of the Microstream is its runtime. On a single AAA battery, it can run for up to 45 hours on low mode and 2.5 hours on high mode. This is more than enough time for most everyday tasks, and you can easily swap out the battery if it starts to run low.

One of the best things about the Microstream is its versatility. It has three different modes (high, low, and strobe) that you can toggle between depending on your needs. The high mode is perfect for illuminating a dark room, while the low mode is great for reading or working on detailed tasks. The strobe mode is useful for self-defense or signaling for help in an emergency situation.

Finally, it's worth mentioning that the Microstream is backed by a limited lifetime warranty, so you can feel confident in your purchase.

In conclusion, the Streamlight Microstream is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a compact and reliable flashlight. Its small size, high-quality construction, and long runtime make it perfect for everyday carry, while its versatile modes and lifetime warranty make it a smart investment. If you're in the market for a new flashlight, the Microstream is definitely worth considering.

    better visibility than some flashlights

The Streamlight Microstream AAA is the best single-AAA flashlight on the market and cannot be surpassed by any other. Despite its stated 45 lumens, the balance between the spot and flood beams is exceptional. I do not have the tools to measure the exact brightness, but in my experience, the Microstream provides better visibility than some flashlights that claim 90-100 lumens. Do not be fooled by flashlights that offer multiple brightness levels, as they can be difficult to use and often have limited runtime. The Microstream's single brightness level is perfect for indoor and outdoor use, and it is not too bright for close-up tasks. The runtime is impressive, lasting 4-5 hours with a lithium battery. The Microstream's simplicity, with its single-click do-it-all brightness, is highly appreciated. I have used it frequently and it has held up well under heavy use.

    Great light! One issue.

I have been using the streamlight 66318 microstream as my go-to for several years now. The compact size makes it easy to fit in my pocket, and the clip on the side is a game-changer, as it allows me to attach it to my hat. I use it daily and have never experienced any problems with the clip. The brightness level is just right for my needs, as I work with industrial control panels. While some people prefer the brightest light possible, I find that this flashlight provides ample illumination for my needs. However, I have encountered one issue with this flashlight - the on/off switch. After frequent use, the switch can become unreliable and eventually fail. This can result in the light turning on and off intermittently, or not turning on at all. I have found that this issue usually arises after the paint on the light has worn off and the switch has been used many times. Unfortunately, once the switch fails, the flashlight can no longer be relied upon.

This light is tiny but bright enough to be useful. High-quality construction too. I haven't thrown it into a fan or set it on train tracks to test it but seems durable enough to survive a drop now and then. I'd consider their other products if I needed a bigger torch. For most users, the low setting on this microlight is adequate and offers a decent battery life. So far, I have mainly used mine walking the dog at night for 10 min or so. After about 4-5 walks, I recharge to be safe, so I have no idea whether the 3.5 hr claim is valid. I'll find out next time I'm working on something with it clipped to my hat. My previous favorite was a little bigger and brighter but used CR123 cells. Which you know are a pita to find, and always expen$ive when buying last minute at a convenience store or the like.

    Streamlight microstream review

I am a machinist of 10 years. I have one of these. I bought two or three years ago. I carry three things in my shirt pockets: a first mechanical pencil, a 6" machinist scale, and this flashlight at ALL times. This thing has been dropped on cement, dropped in 6" of coolant, stepped on, kicked across the floor post drop, and thrown (let's be honest). It comes back for more time and time again. If dropped in the coolant, the only way I found it was because it was still burning. Always use it, and it still has not screwed up despite the oils, solvents, and coolants disintegrating the button cover. Bare switch and all, it is a trooper. The only failure is a dead battery. You cannot go wrong with this light. It isn't cheap but is worth every penny. I was a Maglite guy for years until I took a chance on this. I will never repurchase a Mag. These things rock deep, and it has a better switch. If ever my Microstream gets run over by the fork truck (the only thing I am convinced that will kill it), I will buy another in a heartbeat.

Very well made. Goofy lanyard isn’t good for much. Pictures show it collapsed vs. open for USB charging. The LED glows red while charging, changes to green when fully charged. Directions aren’t clear how to go from low to high output. A single full click equals low, momentary push followed by quick full click goes to high. The USB rechargeable version will not work with a standard aaa battery.

The MicroStream is the Best flashlight I’ve ever owned.

I’ve never had a malfunction with this little flashlight in the seven years I’ve owned it as you can see in the picture most of the original black paint has worn off. It’s small and easy to forget about. Consequently, it’s been through the washer a dozen times. It still works as good as the day I bought it. This is likely the only product I’ve ever given a five-star rating. One tip: When the battery gets low enough, the light immediately shuts off, very unlike any other flashlight I’ve owned in the past. This might make a person think it’s a product malfunction. Not at all. Put a new battery in, and it’ll work fine. A strange feature for a flashlight but certainly not a flaw. Incredibly bright for its size. Best flashlight I’ve ever owned.

A month or so ago, we had some nasty storms, and while at work, our power went out. Like in most office's we had two flashlights for this type of emergency. I grabbed it and tried to turn it on.....nothing. I checked the batteries, and they expired three years ago... I went and blocked the other flashlight and the same story, expired two years ago. The best part of getting those flashlights was that we used my Streamlight to find them! Once we put new batteries in those old beasts (using 3 D batteries each), my little guy put out a better light than both. Later after we were sent home early due to now power, I decided to stop by the grocery store for some things. When I got there, the power was out throughout the entire store, minus the registers. So again, this little guy came in handy, and I shopped for groceries in the dark. It felt like it was an end of days in there lol. This is my real-life application of the Streamlight.

Spend The Money on the Streamlight micro stream You Won't Be Sorry

I work in a factory and need a flashlight when working in small, dimly-lit areas or inspecting parts for flaws, so I probably reach for my light about 100 times a day. I've gone through several, most of the 2X AA variety that tends to fail after about three to six months. Finally, I decided to spend more than $10 and purchased one of these to see if it would fare any better. That was two years ago. So far It's been dropped on a concrete floor, a sharp metal catwalk, and even into a tank filled with dirty water (while lighting) multiple times. It's been exposed to high temperatures, high humidity, and it's still going strong! The paint is scratched up, the lens is marred, and the rubber over the switch is wearing thin but still functions flawlessly throwing more light than one would think a flashlight of this size ought to be able to. There are a couple of slight cons, though. For one, the switch is rather stiff, so it takes a firm press of the button to activate. Not that big of a deal, but be aware. And secondly, when the battery starts to run down, the light will go off with no warning. Again, not a problem if you keep an extra battery nearby. These problems aren't problems compared to what you're getting, though. It's small enough that you can keep it in a pocket or purse, and you'll never even notice that it's there until you need it. I keep mine clipped to the inside of my pants pocket, so I can deploy it instantly at work (or anywhere I am, for that matter) and so far it hasn't let me down. If you're looking for a flashlight that is a workhorse, then I highly recommend spending the few extra dollars on this one. You won't regret it.

I am a night time mechanic at UPS. This little light fits in my shirt pocket, very handy win. I find my self in the dark corners of the lot w/o my headlight. It lasts a long time on one aaa battery and is very bright. It even has a clip that fits on the bill of my cap.

Nice compact quality flashlight. Small and lite. Carry it every day. The only problem I have is that I lose them every so often. That's why I usually buy 2 to 3 at a time. Never had a problem with the flashlight. Wonderful product.
