The Aimpoint Micro T-2 is a solid representation of the next generation of the popular Aimpoint Micro T-1, which itself is also a sibling of the Micro H-1. It seems that the only real significant difference between the T-1 and H-1 models is mostly the night vision compatibility.
Like its original predecessor, the Aimpoint Micro T-2 offers the same night-vision-compatible feature settings. The first four parameters on the night-vision intensity dial can be compatible with both first, second, and also third-generation night vision devices, respectively. The Micro T-2’s elevation dial is also well protected from any bumps and knocks that it may encounter on a typical day of shooting.
The body of the Aimpoint Micro T-2 has been slightly redesigned. It includes the same dimensions as the previous model, but you will notice a somewhat newer shape and design. One change that is significantly different is that the elevation dial is now solidly protected by bespoke ramps which are molded into the body itself.
The windage dial cap is also similar to the previous models and includes two small nubs which are machined into the cover. These nubs allow you to use the cap primarily as a tool to quickly adjust the windage and elevation controls. This feature is undoubtedly a great idea as it means that you no longer need to carry any form of tools to make necessary field adjustments.
Another significant improvement of the Micro T-2 is the addition of high-quality flip-up lens cap. Unlike other ‘cheaper’ optics, these flip-up lens caps are not just merely slipped over the optical tube with flimsy and often delicate rubber sleeve; they are fastened securely and adequately onto the optic. It indeed takes some work to remove them, and that is a good thing. The caps can rotate, which means that you can just choose the direction you would like the covers to open. You may even go as far to notice that the caps are also transparent which means you can use the optic without ever having to open the caps.
The dot itself is 2 MOA which covers over just about two inches at a 100-yard distance. At 400 yards the dot will cover only eight inches of a specific target. Nevertheless, it’s still incredibly precise for your typical AR-rifle ranges.
One of the primary new features of the Aimpoint Micro T-2 is the overall clarity of the lens. The significantly improved transparency means that the optics dot is incredibly crisp and sharp, even if you choose to use a magnifier.
The Aimpoint Micro T-2 is undoubtedly an exciting new optic and highly recommended. This optic is incredibly lightweight and small, weighing in at just 3.7 ounces with its standard mount, but don’t forget it’s also very robust and dependable. The Aimpoint Micro T-2 is also waterproof; you can plunge into the watery depths of up to 80 feet without needing to worry.
