    Trijicon RM02 6.5 MOA Overview

Trijicon has recently released an updated version of its popular RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) sight. Known as the "Type 2," this new iteration of the red dot pistol sight is even more durable and versatile than its predecessor. It is a great option for those looking to transition to a reflex sight, even for duty use.

The Type 2 has improved windage and elevation dials, which are now more resistant to changes and provide audible clicks when adjusting. The sight also offers the option of adjustable brightness or an auto-adjust mode that detects ambient light and adjusts accordingly. The Type 2 also has a locked-out mode that saves battery life while still providing a dim targeting dot.

The Type 2 I tested came with a 3.25 MOA dot and was made with a forged aluminum housing. It is rated waterproof to a depth of 20 meters and runs on a CR2032 lithium battery. The footprint of the Type 2 is the same as the original RMR, so no changes to mounts or holsters are necessary.

In my two weeks of daily carry, I found the Type 2 to be similar to other red dot sights I've used. It is slightly wider than the Glock slide, but barely noticeable. The Type 2 performed flawlessly on the range, with no loss of zero or flicker, even after being banged around and exposed to inclement weather.

One standout feature of the Type 2 is its curved top, which provides a comfortable grip for one-handed reloads and serves as a visual bracket for the upper portions of the target. Multiple shooters put the Type 2 through its paces and it performed up to Trijicon's high standards. Overall, the Trijicon RMR Type 2 does not disappoint and is a reliable and versatile red dot sight for pistol use.

    Best red dot period!

Trijicon is a well-respected brand in the world of optics. While there are many cheaper options available, it's important to remember that you get what you pay for. When it comes to firearms, it's crucial to invest in quality equipment that will last the life of your firearm and not impede your ability to hit your target. The writer has purchased 9 Trijicon RMOs for 9 different firearms and has not experienced any problems with any of them. When it comes to options, the writer prefers the larger MOE for quick target acquisition and ease of use. As their eyesight has diminished with age, the larger dot is easier to see and doesn't block their target. The writer values simplicity, reliability, and ease of use, which is why they always choose Trijicon. Overall, the writer is highly satisfied with their Trijicon RMR and recommends it to others. They expect this won't be their last Trijicon purchase and trust the brand to provide quality optics.

Trijicon is a company known for producing high-quality products, and the RMR is no exception. The RMR has been solid and reliable since day one, without any sight flicker, even without the use of one of the plates underneath it. The glass remains clear and the automatic brightness settings are a convenient feature, adjusting automatically to changes in lighting. The adjustments for brightness on other models may be a potential weak spot, but this model eliminates that concern. The investment in the RMR is well worth it, as target and sight acquisition become faster with practice. The user has put approximately 2,000 rounds through it without any issues. However, it's important to note that the RMR will not make you a better shooter on its own - practice is key to improving your shooting skills.

Initially, the authenticity of the Trijicon RMR was in question due to differences between the images in the listing and on Trijicon's website. The new design features "Patent" instead of "Patent and the patent numbers" and the serial number is located in a different spot. Additionally, a small QR code was added which was not reflected in the listings. However, after contacting Trijicon, the company confirmed that the product was authentic and the images on their website were outdated. Eurooptic, the seller, is listed on Trijicon's website as an official dealer. To avoid confusion in the future, it is suggested that Trijicon and Eurooptic update their listing images to reflect the updated changes made to the product.

    Takes Some Getting Used To

The Trijicon RMR is a quality product with clear instructions, but the initial experience of using a red dot sight can be surprising. The movement of the red dot on the target is much greater than the small movement of the front sight, which can be disorienting at first. However, with some dry firing and repetition, the red dot will become consistent and easier to use. The reviewer tried an adjustable LED version of the RMR and found the auto-adjust mode to be more effective. The buttons on the side of the adjustable LED version lacked tactile feedback, making it difficult to know if the buttons were successfully pressed. The auto-adjust mode was able to handle most lighting conditions, and the reviewer was glad they chose this version over the adjustable LED. The reviewer decided to go with the 6.5 MOA version over the 3.25 MOA option and was happy with their choice. They found that the larger dot size didn't impact accuracy with a handgun, as hand motion was a greater challenge to accuracy. The greatest benefit of using a red dot sight, according to the reviewer, is that it eliminates the need to tilt the head back to shoot, as is necessary with iron sights and bi-focal glasses. The red dot sight provides a more natural and comfortable shooting experience.

Very pleased with type 2. The auto-adjust brightness does a great job with little to no washout. I like not having to dial up the intensity manually when changing lighting environments. These will be replacing all of my old type 1s.

Trijicon is a top name in optics. There are many companies now making optics for cheap that replicate Trijicon for a fraction of the price. Remember, you get what you pay for, and if you can’t see what your shooting, then you’re not going to hit your target. If you put a $50 optic on your firearm, then I sure hope it’s a HiPoint or another piece of junk. Don’t buy cheap when it comes to firearms, and don’t put cheap parts on anything. Buy quality that’s tried and true. Stuff that will take the abuse and last the life of the firearm. Trijicon offers just that. This is my 9th RMO to go on 9 different firearms. Not one problem out of any of them. As far as options, well, that’s another thing. What size MOE, RMO or RMR, or maybe a dual Illuminates, etc. I shoot primarily within 75 yards with everything I own. The majority of the time, I’m within 30, even with my assault rifles. For me getting on target quickly is a must, so I go with a larger MOE. Also, as I get older, my eyes are not as good, so the larger dot is easier to see and still doesn’t block out my target. The red dot is easier to pick up, and I don’t want buttons. I want simple, easy-to-use, and reliable optics. This is why I always choose Trijicon.

First red on a pistol. It is great! I wish I had done this sooner. I will be ordering 2 more in the near future. As I am a person with astigmatism I have found now difficulties with this sight, I also use astigmatism correcting contacts and glasses. As for having a slightly blurry dot, that’s what you should be seeing anyways. If your focused on the dot you not focused on your target. You want to be focused on your target and look through the dot, placing it on your target. Easy to sight. I use this for a daily appendix carry on a g19.

    Great all light optic

I was looking for an optic that would provide the best sight alignment and sight picture in all levels of light. Looked at tritium and fiber optic. Both have their limitations. Considered a combination of the two, but the cost of the sights plus paying a gunsmith to install blow the "cost/benefit" of this choice. I considered a laser but disqualified that pretty quickly. A laser trains you to look where it's pointing and not at the front sight...not good, also. In low light, a laser allows you to see where your gun is pointed but also allows your adversary to follow the laser right back to your gun...again, very bad! My experience is that the RM02 is superior in all light conditions. It facilitates quick sight alignment and sight picture. It's like having a laser on your gun that only you can see. I'm so pleased I'm planning to get another for my other gun.

I have 2 RMR"s, a 3.25 and a 6.5 MOA dot. I can't decide which I like the best. Truly the best I have seen, I am happy with this product. I have them on my Agency Atms Glock 19 and my Gen 5 Glock 19

    Installed waiting to Zero

I just got this for a Walther Q4 TAC. The TAC comes with three mounting plates, and the RMR fits one perfectly. Installation was relatively easy, but I was having problems adjusting the red dot until I remembered reading another review which warned against tightening the mounting screws too tight. Yep, this is what I had done, and after loosening them slightly, all was fine. Now I just have to get out to the range and zero the RMR. So far, so good. One note, although I had seen warnings about the possible futility to this, I went ahead and got an AImshot 9mm laser boresight. I should have heeded the warnings as although the boresight turned on, the tail cap would not allow the slide to close and the gun to go into battery. This meant the barrel was slightly pointed up, which made it useless for zeroing.

    A bright clear red dot

I tried a few such dots. It is difficult to use a red dot with astigmatism, but one can, given a large enough dot, get used to where the dot is. This dot gets dimmer in the dark and its batteries should last long enough to replace the battery annually while always having it on. I am waiting for my pistol slide to be milled for it, but it works very well on a shotgun with a good base.
