Customer Ratings & Reviews
good product great price
Some people's reviews have said the adjustable stock is loose or sloppy. I have seen 1200 dollar ARs with adjustable stocks looser than this one is. I also paid only about $40 for the kit.
rattle-free ar stock kit
Well built but not rattle-free ar stock kit. I can't complain, bought on clearance, and saved a lot. Rattle easily cured. Use feelers Gage set to find a shim thickness and use ductwork aluminum tape and add inside front of stock in the band the circumference and one on back of buffer tube and put back together and most if not all outside rattle will be gone. I am replacing buffer spring with flat wire buffer spring will quite the rest. All equipment needs to be fine-tuned to users needs or expectations when the top of the line last dollars can't be spent. And sometimes even the high dollor units also.
great bargin tapco good.
It is what it is. It did not rattle free like they claim, how where it is like any other product or machine, it is mass-produced. Now with that said. To make it rattle free to what most of us believe that means. You need two inexpensive items: aluminum ductwork tape and Birchwood Casey's alumni black. Use feeler gauges to determine where a shim will tighten up the play. Take your time. Spit the difference on both sides of the buffer tube. Blacken a large enough piece of tape to cut strips to act as shims peel back off and stick them to the buffer tube or inside the AR-15 stock. Trial and error. Took me all of an hour, and mine is genuinely rattle free. Either way, I purchased mine on sale, and for the money, it is as good or better than a lot of more expensive units. Like any other piece of equipping if your not booger rich and buy at bargain prices, then learn to make them work without adding a ton of money. If you could see mine up close, you would never see my modes, and without me telling you, you would never know. And with all this still not as much cost as when not on sale.
This Tapco ar15 stock kit Works as advertised
This Tapco ar15 stock kit Works as advertised, a little looser then I'd like, but well made and functional for the money.
Pretty much precisely the same as all the other AR15 Stocks
Pretty much precisely the same as all the other M4 type stocks, except for the vast Tapco logo on both sides near the toe, and the sling loop at the toe is plastic. The plastic sling loop is a little larger than the usual metal one. The buttstock itself wiggles on the extension tube, but pretty much all AR-15 collapsible stocks do that, and it doesn't affect anything, it's just annoying. The buffer is a standard carbine buffer, and buffer spring looks to be the same as the top-tier brand replacement springs that I had bought before. Indeed a functional piece, but it's nothing special either.
Great AR-15 stock for the money.
Great AR-15 stock for the money. I am like most guys; I don't like the rattle that this stock has. I took the electrical tape and put one piece about four long at the 2 o'clock position, and I split a second piece (also about four long), put a piece on both sides at the bottom where the round becomes square. It took all the rattle out. It takes a little more strength to pull in and out, but I can live with that.
The Tapco ar stock Easy to install,
The Tapco ar stock Easy to install, well-made product, free of defects. As good or better than anything comparable on the market. I would purchase again.
Tapco m4 stock
Very happy with this Tapco m4 stock. Yes, there is better, and there is a lot worse, but I rated it a five because it is an awesome product for the money. It works great and looks great. I have 2 ARs with the same stock on each of them. My opinion is if this is the type of stock you are interested in, it's the best bang for your buck. Thanks, MSP.
AR-15 collapsible stock kit
Purchased for coyote hunting where an adj. stock is a great asset. It performs perfectly, no matter the weather. There is a huge drop from the noise the buffer spring made in the A2 stock I had. I bought the drab green model and painted it with my own sagebrush camo pattern, and the paint adheres unbelievably well.
