    Needed a riser

I own a flat top AR-15 with a solid forearm made from Hogue, without the rails, it's a nice, solid piece, well, I wanted to be able to mount both my optics and my irons to the weapon, that way I have the option of in close, or at a distance. My original intent was to mount the irons at a 45 degree angle and the optic ontop, well, I purchased the 45 degree mounts from MSP, and realized my scope was too large for this idea to function without a riser. I shopped locally: A dealer had a riser similar to this one, made of metal, at $37, that was a bit steep in my opinion, and the weight it woulda added, atop of the addons I've already put on was simply unacceptable. The rifle isn't heavy by no means, but any additional weight is unnecessary. Then I came back to MSP, and found the Tapco AR-15 Riser Mount. I had some reservations due to it being made from composite materials, but I decided to give it a shot, I'm glad I did. Not only did I have enough room to mount my iron sights after some fanagling of the mount location, but I nolonger had to smear my cheek against the stock to see through the optic, and I nolonger had to pinch the charging handle, I can use everything on it with ease. The only reason I didn't rate it a five star is due to the single length choice. Had it been a three inch or slightly longer, definitely a five star
