    Definitely an improvement

Definitely an improvement over the factory trigger. When installed into the all-weather Zytel stock on the 77/22, if you tighten the rear trigger guard screw too much, it will "pinch" the trigger down, and you will not be able to rack the bolt without the firing pin dropping as you put it down again (it doesn't snap forward it just goes down as fast as you push the bolt down). This is remedied by backing off the screw a turn or two. I may even be tightening it too much; I am not sure what the specs are. If you want it tight, then be prepared to do a slight amount of filing, but nothing you should need a gunsmith for. It does have noticeable creep, but it's so light I don't mind. Strangely I feel like the creep increased as you make the trigger pull heavier; I thought the opposite would have been the case. Getting the "jam" screw adjusted so that the safety functions normally takes a little bit of tweaking (think along the lines of adjusting old school engine valves with a screwdriver and wrench), but it really was not that big a deal. After properly set, the safety feels kind of mushy, but you want it pressed right up against that jam screw nice and tight, so the trigger cannot be depressed with the safety engaged. Hard to explain, but when you open it up and look for yourself, it should be pretty obvious.

I have three of these triggers in Ruger rifles. Very easy to install, and all three will adjust to a good clean 2 Lb. Actually, they will adjust slightly lighter than 2 Lb. But 2Lb. seems to work best for me.

I first looked for an improvement over the factory trigger, and now it is the first thing I do to all of my 77/17's. It makes shooting accurate, fun, and instinctive. The first one did require a slight amount of fitting with the stock. After that, it fit beautifully functioned smoothly, breaking cleanly at 2 pounds. My wife liked the change so much, she claimed my rifle as her own, so I bought another... And yes, I put a Rifle Basix trigger in it as well!

Very easy to install. Push out pin for the trigger. Remove stock trigger and spring. Replace with new parts; you're done—10 to 15 min to install. Great trigger. I set mine at 2/1/2 lbs. The stock trigger was almost 7 lbs. Great improvement.

Very easy to install even though I had never done this before. A little trial and error on the adjustments, but I got there. Great buy, and I would recommend it to anybody.

    Ruger rifle trigger

The Rifle Basix trigger is a true drop-in installation that requires only essential tools and yields an excellent single-stage trigger pull. I adjusted mine to 2.25 lbs. and tested the safety of the product by dropping the rifle, recoil pad down onto a concrete floor from a height of 1 foot three consecutive times. The firing pin did not fall. So the product not only lives up to its manufacturer's claims, it is safe as well. All in all, money well spent.
