Primary Arms ACSS300 blackout Outstanding value, good quality AR scope all around.
This scope does everything as it's advertised. The ACSS reticle for 7.62x39/300 BLK is excellent, and the holdovers and bullet drops are spot on if you sight it correctly at the right distance. You cannot get a 1-6x at this price point with these features from anyone else. Mounted to an AK, it's a little cumbersome overall, but I prefer a variable-powered scope over a fixed power scope. These scopes are made in China and while the value is outstanding, it is simply not a premium scope so don't expect it to be. The clarity of the glass isn't HD or top tier by any means and the 1x is not really a "true" 1x as you still get a "fish bowl effect". The ACSS chevron is great however overall to make the bullet drop reticle true to size ballistically, it's a very, very small pattern and doesn't draw your eye as well as a true red dot or holographic sight. However at under 300 dollars with a 3 year warranty you can't go wrong with this optic if you're looking for something budget friendly on an AK or a cheaper 300 BLK AR build.
primary arms 7.62x39 scope
Here's why I said "depends." I belong to a gun club that has a 900 yard distance, and all the yardage targets less than that. I mounted this Primary Arms scope on my AR15 in 300 Blackout. I got this scope with the idea I could use it for CQB, especially with the Subsonic rounds, and then ranging it out there for some longer shots (400, 500, and 600 yards) with Supersonic rounds. I heard the claims in the ads, I watched the YouTube videos, so I believed I could grab some Supersonic rounds, put the 500 yard hash mark on the steel plate and 'Ping.' Not so. Remember, you can get Supersonic rounds in a wide variety of bullet weights. I zeroed it at 100 yards and used it at the 1x and had a great time hitting what I aimed at around that 100 yard area. Clear glass, a bright illuminated optic which is very adjustable, easy target acquisition, etc. it is worth the money in just the 1x range of use. But I bought 120g Sig rounds, and I hand loaded some 150g Hornadys. At 500 yards, these two rounds hit many different locations. You're saying duh. Yes I understand the principles involved here, but the ads are a little misleading. So my point, using the scope's hashmarks for yardage, experiment with them, make notes, find a Supersonic bullet you like and stick to it. Then you'll have a REALLLLY good dependable scope.
primary arms 300 blackout scope
The scope with patented 300acc blackout/7.62×39 reticle is a perfect combination for a platform rifle and I found the scope to be very accurate in measuring distance for shot placement. I consider this scope combo to be a budget scope, but after receiving and taking it out for a day at the range, I felt I definitely got the best bang for the buck, images viewed through the scope are crystal clear, and reticle with 12 brightness settings were suitable for sun or cloud cover and vertical/horizontal sighting settings have a pronounced click to ensure the setting stay put. Could not be happier for a scope and mount combo in this price range.
Outstanding AR Scope
The item was well packaged. The illumination dial works well with 11 settings. The power adjustment was a little hard to turn at first but has freed up with use. I mounted the scope using a Aero Precision Ultralight 30 mm Scope Mount and it worked very well. At the range, the scope was very clear and i could see holes in targets at 100 yard target. The ACSS Reticle is very nice. It can be used with both eyes open. I loved the scope, especially the clarity of the lens and the outstanding Reticle. The illumination was also very clear. A great AR scope that I would recommend to anyone.
Great ar15 scope
This scope is impressive. Super clear and fantastic reticle. Holds zero. I would highly recommend. Ive used much higher-priced scopes that have nothing on this. Makes extended-range shots with my AR15 a breeze. Ranging reticle works excellent.
Great AR optic
This is perfect for an AR. Once zeroed, it stays zeroed. The reticle does all the adjustments for you. At 1x it's almost as good as a red dot, and 6x is great for reaching out to 500 yards. The ACSS reticle is accurate and gets the rounds on target out at a distance. I lost a turret cap, and Primary Arms is sending me a new one! Great customer service!
Great value! good quality AR scop
The acss reticle is fantastic... glass is pretty clean but unless you want to spend 3x as much... get an aluminum throw lever, and you are in business. Red dot speed up close and then swipe the lever real quick and 6x that fast.. IMO the best overall AR scope for an ar platform in the budget range...
primary arms slx 1-6x24mm sfp rifle scope gen iii - illuminated acss-300bo/7.62x39
I was debating this PA 6x scope versus Vortex's, which is at the same price point and both are made in the same factory. The choice was made easier by picking the ACSS reticle of this PA scope. There's not a better reticle on the market, in my opinion. The horseshoe and chevron make target acquisition very quick and simple, acting like any red dot optic. Another great option on this scope is the reticle can be lighted using a dial range from 1-11x illumination. This is great for bright daylight backgrounds. This gen3 version is shorter than the gen2, making it a bit more compact. The unit is very sturdy and well built; the casing seems solid and durable. The dials are easy to adjust and very simple to use. After a few minutes of studying the functions of the reticle's markings and you're ready to use them. The glass quality is outstanding, super clear and crisp. Another positive is the lifetime warranty from PA on this gen3 model. You can spend $1000s on high-end scopes that don't have the same options like this one. You can't beat the quality and ease of use on this scope for the price. I highly recommend this scope for the novice or gun hobbyist who doesn't have a bottomless wallet and loves great value.
Primary Arms SLx Better than I thought it would be
I ordered this but then later changed my mind because I wanted to go with a holographic sight to prioritize acquiring close-in targets. So I had every intention of returning this scope once I received it. However, when I finally got it and looked through it, I thought, "well, this is pretty good." So I mounted it (but still had it in the back of my mind that I might return it), and boy did it win me over. The glass is super clear, and I love the reticle for 300BO. Eye relief is great, and the eye box is very forgiving. On another AR, I had a Romeo 5 red dot paired with a Juliet 3x magnifier, but I ended up returning them because I had problems with the eye box on the Juliet 3 magnifier. I found it very narrow, but thankfully, no such problems with this scope (even at the 6x setting). At 1x, it's good enough for close-in target acquisition and can be used with both eyes open. Not as good as a red dot or holographic, but good enough for me. And then I love the ability to dial it up to 6x for longer range shooting. I can definitely recommend this scope as a very good compromise between close quarters shooting and longer range.
