If you want a precision scope, look for a 20X or 32X scope, but if you want a fast, close-quarters scope with the ability to magnify up to 8x at long distances, the Nightforce NX8 1-8 is a great option. I'm not impressed with the hype surrounding this optic. In my opinion, it is overpriced by $1,000 compared to other top-of-the-line options. The 1x magnification is not accurate and causes dizziness when trying to shoot with both eyes open. The diopter adjustment did not help, and the glass had an odd shifting effect that changed the magnification when adjusting the elevation turret. I found the performance of this NX8 to be disappointing, and I ended up returning it after discovering it was defective. I own better options, such as the K16i, K18i, and VX-6HD 1-6, that perform much better in comparison.

Enormous scope and construction seem like typical Nightforce quality. Turrets and glass are on par with my NXS, but of course, it has an 8x magnification range. The center of the aiming reticle is a little large for longer range precision work, but if you are holding over, the lower line is fine enough. It is quite useable at lower power as well. Without the thicker reticle, this would have been compromised. Mine has been through hunting season on a 6.5 Grendel carbine and matches the rifles capabilities well. If the center reticle were a chevron with a sharp point, it would be perfect for me. As it is, it is perfect, and I would consider buying another.

This little scope gathers a huge amount of light, so I'm able to use it in low light in the early morning and late evening deer hunting, and the 8x magnification is all I need out to 100-yard shots even with my old eyes. Also, love the power throw lever for quick and easy magnification adjustments while on target.

The NF nx8 1-8x is an exceptional optic, and I prefer it over other LPVs. It has the NightForce 'feel'; bank vaults like turret clicks, smooth magnification and diopter ring, clear glass, and reasonable overall weight.

The right range for work, patrol rifle, for close to midsize spaces. Great price. I used a coupon and no sales tax and free shipping. Quality glass and tough.What I have extent stays zeroed. This extent inches groups at 100 yds.
