If you want a railed too cover for your AK, there’s literally no better option than TWS dog leg cover. I use this instead of a side mount because my AK doesn’t have a side mount rail. The lockup is super tight and I couldn’t be happier.

Dont like putting coat hanger in my arsenal. Causes more wear and tear not to mention loosing accuracy. Prefer to have kept the telescopic tubular release button.

Fits great easy install haven't torture tested it yet but seems to a good product

Tries to fit the GenIII mount several times and still could not get the hinge pin from popping up ever so slightly which throws off my Eotech. The Gen II looks to be a better choice because the removable hinge pin is absent. I have the hinge point zip tied down and now it is rock solid but who wants a zip tie on their AK?!! So don't lose your money and be unsatisfied, go with the Gen II .......I wished I did

I have a MAK 90 and the mount itself is awesome and rock solid it does not work very well with the Gen 3 version. The pivot point in front of the trunnion will move up and down with recoil which throws off point of aim on my Eotech. I ordered from Texas weapons system a new nut mount plate and still to no avail same thing. The only thing that truly works is a black zip tie to force down the movement and then the sucker is like it's welded on.......zero movement, but obviously who wants a zip tie on their rifle. The rail can still pop off with the push of the quick release button to be cleaned and out back on without losing zero but if you remove the zip tie to do this you will have to re zero the rifle. The Gen2 looks like a better option due to one less pivot point. I wished I would of gone with that option but I am stuck with the zip tie Gen3 and kinda out of my cash .Other than the zip tie issue, the mount is well made, easy to install and perfect for mounting a scope or red dot .......like I said before go with the gen 2 if you have a MAK 90

Perfect kit with clear instruction sheet. Each part fits very well on my rifle. At the end, disassembling scope and cover for complete clean then reassembly proved to be very repetitive on target, approx 4" @ 200 meters, which was quite unexpected for me. I plan to use the TWS cover for IPSC-Rifle, so only time will prove the system to be strong and repeatable enough for my use. Regarding the use on TANTAL, the locking button / spring rod supplied in the kit is a little shorter than the Polish original. The recoil spring is therefore "pre-compressed" at locked bolt position. That might be a cycling problem to those using a very light plinking load.

First off, I have to commend mountsplus for their great communication and fast shipping. I've seen mixed reviews on this product about holding zero, mainly on the gen 2s and older models. I've been running this mount hard with lots of rounds down the pipe of my rifle with it and multiple cleanings that have required removal of the mount, and I have yet to have any zero shift while running a Trijicon MRO red dot on top. Granted, I'm not using a magnified optic nor am I shooting paper. I mainly shoot 4" steel plates and smaller silhouette plates at 100 and beyond, and the rifle and mount have yet to fail me. As far as installation goes, the hardest part is getting your factory sight leaf and spring out. Installing the top cover is a breeze. Great product. Would not hesitate to put this on another rifle.
