EGW HD 30 MM Tactical Aluminum Rings
Description
EGW’s bestselling rings are created in our American-made Fadal by machining aircraft grade aluminum from billet one pair of scope rings at a time.
We bore the holes to 30mm +.0014”. When we machine the profiles of the ring we build in a .030” radius on all outside edges. Next we machine a 45 degree bevel around the entire ring and clamp. We clamp the pair on a 30mm mandrill with a 1/8” pin to keep the pair exactly together. We then thread form and tap holes in the ring. Thread forming is 40% stronger than cut threads.
The rings are serial engraved before they are separated. One ring and cap has a decimal in front of the numbers so the caps match exactly. i.e. one ring will show “575” and its identical twin will show “.575”.
We then sand blast them for a matte finish and anodize them in Eastern Pennsylvania.
The cross bolt is made from chromoly steel in our turning centers, roll threaded in-house and heat treated and blued locally. The ring nut is beveled on both ends and an inset washer is used to keep the nut from scoring the finish on the clamp. The threads are roll formed for strength, fit (class 2a) and finish. The clamp is machined from billet and complete with radius and bevels, and anodized to the match rings.
Our rings are measured from where the ring sits on the top of the base, to the center of the ring.
Our Tactical rings are available in 3 heights:
.850” high 198-61100
.990” high 198-61101
1.275" high. 198-61102
If your scope has an objective greater than 56mm, we recommended .990” rings or higher.
One set of rings weighs in at approximately 4.8oz.
We recommend that you torque the crossbolts of our HD Rings to 65 inch pounds, and the top screws to 15 inch pounds.
1” Inch machined Delrin Inserts are available and sold separately to accommodate a 1” scope tube.

HIGH QUALITY SCOPE RINGS

I have a pair of these aluminum scope rings on every one of my rifles. They are sturdy and machined to exacting tolerances. I have never had any of them come loose. I love the fact that they are manufactured as a pair, just like the bearing caps are machined and trued on an engine crankshaft - to ensure perfect alignment. EGW - when you demand perfection in your shot placement.

I purchased the EGW 30mm Medium Picatinny rings for my Remington Tactical Rifle and was very impressed with the fit and finish. The rings mounted correctly to my EGW +20 MOA base. I will buy EGW products in the future, again a great value in a quality product. This product would have rated five stars with me if it was available in a shorter ring height configuration.

I mated these to my Nightforce NxS 5.5-22x56 with a weaver 20 mao rail on a Remington 700 ald varmint. The fit and finish on these rings were good. The .99 in heights of these rings clear my barrel to the scope of bell housing about .25 in. Just what I was looking for.
