it IS softer than the ATI Fiberforce plastic stock itself, but not nearly as cushy as I would have liked. still, for the price (MSP has the lowest around I think) it's a pretty good buy. but do NOT pay more for this item.

The X1 is recoil pad Upgrade Kit is fantastic! I was amazed at how easy it was to install onto my TacLite stock. The installation instructions were easy to follow, as well. The instructions come inside the packaging and are available online. The pad is of ample size and thickness to fit well in the shoulder-pocket and perform its purpose to absorb recoil, respectively. And, its design doesn't detract but enhances my stock's sleekness like all the products offered by ATI, its made of quality material. I have ATI parts and accessories on three of my firearms, and I'm most satisfied with their performance. Additionally, ATI's customer service is outstanding, and all my products have shipped the next day at the latest.
