This FAL mount is rock solid. The mount fits so tight I have to use a small mallet to tap it on and off. Once it has been off and on a few times and settles in from firing return to zero is not be a problem after reassembly. I like the idea that it can slide off compared to the mounts that clamp on. Makes it easy to clean the rifle after firing.

This is my third A.R.M.S.PARA FAL mount purchased over the last few years. They all fit great and they all perform as they should. They are one piece with no spring guide rod hassle.

I mounted this on my Belgian FN FAL 50.63 paratrooper model. I had a DSA Extreme Duty standard mount with a Hi-Lux 1 - 4X tactical scope on it. It was very heavy and I was searching for a sturdy mount that was lighter. The A.R.M.S. mount fit perfectly on the first installation attempt with no fitting needed. It is rugged and much, much lighter. Although the bolt carrier cannot be accessed without removing the mount, I think the trade-off in weight is worth it in a rifle not intended to be a safe queen. As with all A.R.M.S. products, it is well made and I have no doubt that it will hold zero. I understand that some shooters look at this brand as old school. But, A.R.M.S. was top of the line for years and judging by this mount they still get the job done.

The machine work on the mount is great, but the rails are not riveted in correctly. I have had several of these over the years, and this is by far, the worst fit. It sits too high on the receiver and leaves a gap. The rails also torque in a bit, which i didn't like, after i had to use a mallet to install it. Metal came off the rail when i did, and i had to file it down, to remove the burr. On top of that, it looked like someone was in a hurry when they did the rivets. I had to redo several of them so they wouldn't rub on the carrier. If i had known this i probably wouldn't have bought it, and will not buy another one. I talked with ned and sent him pics, be he never got back to me. Disappointed with this mount.

This was for my pre-ban 1980's FN / FAL paratrooper and it fit perfectly. Highly recommended !

It fit nice and tight and then got easier to take on and off with successive removals and installs. I am very pleased with the workmanship and would definitely recommend to anyone with a paratrooper FN-FAL!! Now if ARMS just made one for the VZ-58...

I keep getting more paratrooper FALs and keep getting/needing more of these mounts. This is my third. I really like the ARMS #4 mount. Both of my other mounts have been solid performers. The mount returns to the same position no matter how many times I have removed/replaced it. The POA vs POI doesn't change a bit. They are very light weight compared to the DSA model and are MUCH easier to remove/replace than the DSA as well. I am somewhat concerned about the amount of play between the rails and the aluminum body on this latest mount. Seems that the rivets were not as evenly squished in their holes. There is a bit of slop when it isn't on the rifle. We will have to see if this leads to a loss of RTZ in the future.

I've had this mount for approximately ten years and found it to be very well made. The only con is that the bolt carrier hits the recoil spring guide rivet until you've fired it enough to wear that down, then it works as nature intended. That took about 80 rounds to accomplish.

I will continue to buy this everytime I put a Picatinny Rail on a FAL-there isn't any better. But everytime I do I'll ask the question "why can't these guys work out the tab that keeps the bolt carrier in the upper?" It's so close to perfection -ARMS! Finish the engineering on what is otherwise a great product.

I've used this mount for a number of years. It's first class quality and solid construction is without question. There is a big "however". This mount does not enable bolt removal without taking the unit completely off the rifle. That means routine cleaning of the bolt group isn't easy and is likely to be overlooked. Until that is corrected, I cannot recommend this otherwise well made dust cover replacement mount.

This mount is very well built and fits well. If your looking for the best then this is it.
