The margins of these Savannah’s are inhabited by large numbers of elephant. Also present are East African greater kudu, Roosevelt’s sable, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, duiker (red, blue and common) and a large number of lion and leopard. The various rivers support large numbers of hippopotamus and crocodile. The fishing can be excellent for the famous tiger Lion hunting.

Attorney Marty Schwimmer reports on The Trademark Blog that an application has been filed to register the word mark VAJAYJAY for Goods and Services beauty, hair care and personal care products.

“I think vajayjay is a nice word, don’t you?” asked Oprah, when she used the neologism on her show as a euphemism for vagina, according to an article in the New York Times discussing the popularity of vajayjay.

The swift adoption of vajayjay is not simply about pop culture’s ability to embrace new slang. Neologisms are always percolating. What this really demonstrates, say some linguists, is that there was a vacuum in popular discourse, a need for a word for female genitalia that is not clinical, crude, coy, misogynistic or descriptive of a vagina from a man’s point of view.

“There was a need for a pet name,” said Geoffrey Nunberg, a linguist at the School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley, and the chairman of the usage panel for the American Heritage Dictionary, “a name that women can use in a familiar way among themselves.”

As Marty says, “This will be interesting.”

moose hunting

Most hunts start and end at one of our 4 base camps, which are equipped with log structures and/or heated cabins. From there, hunters leave with a string of horses or are dropped at a remote lake via floatplane, depending on the animal and area being hunted. Most of the hunts are spot and stalk. Calling is also utilized during the moose rut. We conduct hunts which produce results. Hunter success includes hard work on everyone’s part. Our equipment is some of the best in the industry. Most of our hunts are challenging and rewarding, for those who want a fair chase hunt in some of the most scenic and wild country found anywhere in the world. All hunts start/end in the town of Smithers, BC (daily flights from Vancouver, BC to Smithers). The scenic floatplane (Turbine Otter, Beaver, Wilga or Cessna 185) flight to camp takes approximately 2 hours each way.

A state appeals court refused today to revive a ban on handgun possession in San Francisco, saying the measure that city voters approved in November 2005 conflicts with state law.

The First District Court of Appeal in San Francisco agreed with a June 2006 ruling by Superior Court Judge James Warren, who said local governments in California have no authority to prohibit handguns. Warren said a California law that authorizes police agencies to issue concealed-weapon permits implicitly forbids a city or county to ban handgun possession by law-abiding adults.

The San Francisco measure, Proposition H, would have outlawed possession of handguns by all city residents except law enforcement officers and others who needed guns for professional purposes. It also would have forbidden the manufacture, sale and distribution of any type of firearms and ammunition in San Francisco.
