Glock Pistols DPM Mechanical Recoil System

There is little doubt that the Glock is one of the most popular auto pistols in the world. However, even a weapon of this high quality can always use improvements. Enter DPM Systems Technologies and their new recoil system for the Glock. This system does offer a number of promises for the Glock which includes the following;

  • Reduced Recoil
  • Improve Reliability
  • Faster Repeat Shots
  • Better Weapon Control
  • More Efficient Slide Buffer

DPM Systems Technologies certainly promise quite a bit with their new product. In fact, there are two systems that the company designs for Glocks. The first is the mechanical system while the other is a magnetic dampener. The mechanical part consists of a multi-spring unit on a stainless guide rod. There are no attachments made to the outside of the Glock. This particular system fits the Glock 19, 23 and 32.

There are two different springs that fit outside of the guide rod with the others used within the rod itself. The first thing most people notice after installing the new springs is the feeling of greater resistance when the slide is pulled back. In fact, it’s very hard to “slam” the slide all the way back using the new springs by DPM Systems Technologies. However, it is not any more difficult to chamber a new round from the magazine as compared to the factory installed springs.

Firing the weapon using Cor-Bon hollowpoints demonstrated the improved features of the new spring system as the recoil was not quite as noticeable. Even when using 9mm Luger cartridges as the slide does not slam into the frame which had previously added to the recoil of the weapon. The result is a greater feeling of control because the hard recoil action is now gone. In its place is a much smoother recoil that makes it easier to control the Glock. With a less harsh recoil, the Glock feels more controllable and presents an overall smoother experience to the shooter.

The tests were performed with the Glock 19, an older model that is still highly popular and results were certainly impressive. The overall action of the Glock was much more controllable and had solved an issue that before seemed out of anyone’s control, the slamming of the slide into the piece itself which contributed to the overall recoil of the Glock. The system seems to absorb just enough of the recoil to prevent the slide from “kicking” into the weapon itself.

The magnetic system must attach to the Glock accessory rail of the pistol and does require a holster that is specially cut in order to hold the expanded unit. The mechanical system alone works quite well and should be very useful for competition shooters as well as law enforcement as it provides the advantage of lessening the recoil while not adding any weight or difficulty to operating the weapon. With nothing bad to speak of, DPM Systems Technologies seems to have created a very potent addition to the Glock which is quite useful. Overall, the smoother performance and faster repeat shots while protecting the slide are positive features that make this new system highly recommended.
