At a mere 4 ½ ounces, the ACOG by Trijicon is one of the best for small, fast moving tactical teams that operate in speed-oriented environments as well as being in close quarters where space is a necessity. Very compact and built for weapons such as the M16/M4, this new ACOG provides the best in fire control capabilities that makes targets faster and easier to acquire. Thanks to the larger field of view that provides up to 7.4 degrees and an ergonomic design that is very compatible to the eye, this new product by Trijicon is easily one of the best on the market today.
The design itself has been adapted from the battlefields as United States forces are already improving on the powerful ACOG design. Starting with adding a small red dot on the top for missions that promise close quarters, Trijicon has managed to create similar models for the public that incorporate the improvements by the military. The TA31F-RMR is a great example of how Trijicon has accelerated the process of adding new improvements from the dual-illuminated reticle that uses fiber optic technology and tritium that provides a bright aiming point no matter the lighting conditions.
This is a ranging reticle that will compensate for bullet drops up to 800 meters away without having to make any manual adjustments to the ACOG. The 3.25 MOA aiming dot can be found on top of the Trijicon RMR.
