The Trijicon HD XR™ Night Sights were specifically designed with the ever evolving challenges of law enforcement agencies in mind. Building on the features of the current HD™ Night Sights, the Trijicon HD XR™ night sights are for the next level of advanced target identification and engagement at increased distances. A thinner front sight post allows shooters to have a larger field of view which further enhances the ability to identify targets, expedite engagements and see location of hits on target at longer distances. Pistol shooters that need the advantage of a more precise engagement in any light can count on the Trijicon HD XR™ Night Sights. Green tritium lamps are warranted for 12 years from date of manufacture.

Great HK VP9 Night Sights

I got this to replace the existing VP9 phosphorescent sights. At night, the stock sights don't light up because they require direct light to glow. So if it's in a holster or on a table at night, they won't glow. Even with the outside street light coming through the windows, I still can't see my front post with the stock sights. It's not even pitch black. So with the XR's, they glow green starting around 6 pm as it's getting dark, and green at 2 am. I can see my front post now. Also, when outdoors, the stock sights suck. I cant see the target at 25 yards due to the sun. The white dot blends into the background, and the black post blends into the black 6-inch target circle. So having orange helps now.

I had night sights on my vp9, but wearing bifocals made seeing the front sight hard. With the Trijicon HD, XR night sights," wow." I Can now pick up that front sight with ease. Low light or bright light, great product.

I usually don't like to write reviews without testing a product, but 1) these are sights, so what I see now is what I will see later, and 2) the reputation of the company matters. That said, I like the way these sights are executed. I find it very easy to present and acquire the sights. I tested them in bright light and enjoyed the notch-front sight combo a lot. I tried them in dim light and found that it shines there; the orange is still visible alongside the tritium. Tested them in darkness, and they are like all the other night sights, three dots in the dark, which is meaningless because I wouldn't be able to see the target anyway in total darkness. Given that dim light is the goldilocks area of this sight, I give them five stars. Your mileage may vary.

These are well-designed sights. I like how the front sight jumps out at you, and the rear stays muted. I ordered the XR version because I wanted the narrow front post. It may be narrower than the non-XR version, but it is still wider than I would have liked. If I had seen them in person before buying them, I'm not 100% sure I would have bought them, but that is a matter of preference. They are still incredible sights.

These are really fantastic sights. This is the second time I have installed these. Can be used in ANY light condition. On my smith Wesson M&P they are dead on the center point of aim point of impact. It should be the same on the VP9.

I never swapped out sights before, so I purchased a sight pusher, and it came out great. Take your time, and you will be thrilled like I am.

I'm a big believer in a "U" rear sight and dot or bead front as a defensive pistol instructor. The XR series has a slightly thinner front blade making a "flash" sight picture very quickly. Best of all worlds.
