    Leupold solid

This lens truly embodies the Leupold legacy: robust build, pristine visuals, exceptional value for the price, and above all, reliability. While it's designed for rimfire, I'm confident in its longevity, perhaps even outlasting me. I've acquired another for my Ruger and a third (3i) due to my unwavering faith in Leupold's quality. This brings my count to five. While I've also tried brands like Steiner, Millet, Bushnell, Vortex, and a few others, I foresee Leupold being my go-to in the future. I have a strong inclination towards US-made products, and I'm more than willing to invest here. Especially in today's context, supporting US manufacturing is paramount. While China's offerings aren't up to par and Vortex from the Philippines is decent, I'm committed to keeping my investments local.

    Fine rifle scope

I chose this scope specifically for a .22 rifle, with its parallax adjusted to 60 yards for a 10/22, as a replacement for my Weaver1-3x. My primary aim was to find a scope that offered enhanced magnification for spotting tinier targets beyond 50 yards, and the positive feedback on this one sealed my decision. I've been using a Leupold Vari X II since 1975, which has been consistently reliable across various rifles over the years. It remains clear, accurate, and incredibly dependable. This vintage 2-7x initiated my loyalty to Leupold scopes, and they've never let me down. The Leupold Freedom VX is a fresh addition to the market, likely designed to rival the influx of affordable imported scopes. However, it doesn't compromise on quality. When compared to my vintage Vari XII, the Freedom scope is equally clear, if not slightly brighter. Using quick-detach rings, it's maintained its accuracy even after multiple adjustments for the 25-yard peep sight. It's been a joy to consistently hit small blue plastic milk jug caps from 50 yards once the scope is reattached. The Leupold Freedom truly embodies the iconic quality Leupold is known for!

Great rimfire scope for the money

I set this up using groove & clamp rings (not my preferred method, but the only option for this specific rifle without drilling & tapping) on a Remington 521 bolt-action. This versatile .22 is frequently used for everything from casual shooting and managing yard pests to nocturnal raccoon hunting. For the latter, while distances aren't vast, clarity is crucial. I was curious about the performance of the newer Freedom series, having owned multiple Leupolds but never one from this line. It didn't let me down. The scope offers impressive clarity, flexible eye relief, and ample space in the eye box. The quality it delivers seems to surpass its reasonable price tag. I'm currently assembling a rimfire Remington target rifle and have been pondering the right optic choice. Given my positive experience with the Freedom series 2-7x, I'm leaning towards the 3-9x from the same line. While I'd typically opt for greater magnification, my satisfaction with this series has convinced me to stick with it.

    Great quality, great deal!

I was in search of a scope for my brand-new CZ-USA 457 American .22LR. Given that I already possess six Leupold scopes, all of which have served me exceptionally well (including one that was repaired free of charge after I accidentally damaged it), I felt another Leupold was the right choice. I opted for the VX-Freedom 2-7x, believing that a .22LR rifle wouldn't necessitate a higher magnification. I equipped the rifle with Leupold rings and set off to the shooting range. After calibrating at 25 yards, I shifted to 50 yards, achieving consistent half-dollar-sized groupings using my go-to .22LR ammunition (Remington Golden Bullet 40gr plated). There was no need for scope adjustments between the two distances. I couldn't test the MOA reticle's bullet drop feature due to time constraints. The scope's elevation and windage tweaks were sharp and remained steady, especially after a gentle tap post-adjustment. One enhancement I'd suggest for Leupold is to incorporate a laser-marked line on the tube that aligns with the ring's split. This would simplify reticle alignment during mounting, removing the need for additional leveling tools or guesswork. Overall, it's a top-notch product offering excellent value for its price.

    Typical Leupold Quality

I bought this for my Ruger 10/22 and mounted it with Vortex Pro series low picatinny rings along with a Tactical Solutions picatinny base. This Leupold scope delivers exceptional quality without the hefty price tag. The lens is crystal clear, the reticle sharp, and adjustments for both the eye piece focus and magnification are smooth and user-friendly. My minor concern is that the windage and elevation adjustments aren't as sharp as I'd prefer, and the turrets are made of polymer. However, they function well. Notably, this scope is lighter than another 2-7 power scope I was eyeing from a different brand, and it's made in the USA rather than abroad. The combination of weight savings, domestic production, and a competitive price made this my top choice.

The Rimfire scope perfectly met my expectations. It offers pristine clarity and effortless adjustments. I've mounted it on my Christensen Arms Ranger 22 bull barrel rifle. I wanted a scope that provides a broad field of view for squirrel hunting while also offering sufficient magnification for target shooting. The magnification is just right. This is my seventh Leupold scope, and certainly not the last.

I purchased one of these scopes to put on a .22 rf Ruger American as a birthday gift for my wife. She is pleased with it, and therefore I am happy with it. Excellent clarity and accuracy on our club's 100-yard range. (You may have less success if you don't lap the rings first.)

At this time, I have not yet been able to shoot with this scope, but the product itself arrived quickly and as described. I am very impressed with the clarity of the scope. I mounted this scope on a CZ 452 left hand with medium height warne rimfire scope rings. With this mount, the bolt does not contact the scope, but it is pretty close. I decided to stick with the setup because I like the medium scope height, though it will take some practice to work the bolt quickly. Overall I think this is a great optic at a reasonable price, and I would recommend its purchase for a rimfire rifle.

I replaced my four power scope with this scope. So far, I have been very pleased. It has enabled me to get on target on things up close, and I also can see targets better at a distance. It is a good value.

I bought one to replace a Bushnell 4x on a 71 Marlin 336 .30-.30. The added power made it much nicer for my old eyes, and the 33mm clears the rear iron site no problem and fits and looks good on the rifle. Glass and duplex crosshair is bright and clear. Mounted it on Leupold rail and mounts. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd one for my 2013 Marlin 336C .30-.30. (same mounts) Talking to factory customer reps is a pleasure; you can't go wrong with this product. I was able to get rubber dust covers from the factory. The only negative thing I can drum up is the matte finish is super flat black. A gloss scope would go much nicer with the guns' bluing, but for the price and hunting doesn't matter.

Great rimfire scope for the money

I mounted this in groove & clamp-style rings (not my favorite way to mount a scope but the only way to mount a scope on this particular rifle without drilling & tapping) on a Remington 521 bolt action. This is a general usage .22 that gets much use, from plinking and taking care of pests around the yard to coon hunting at night. When coon hunting, the shots aren't long, but good clarity is a must. I was unsure what to expect from the newer Freedom series, I have many Leupolds, but this is my first Freedom series scope. I am not disappointed; it is quite evident with pretty forgiving eye relief and much room in the eye box. I think the quality of this scope outweighs its modest price. I am working on a rimfire Remington target rifle currently. I have given much thought as to what optic to put on it. After my experience with the Freedom series 2-7x scope, I have decided to go with the 3-9x scope from the same series. I would rather have higher magnification, but I am so pleased with this series that I will stay with it.
