The quick-release buckle is easily and naturally indexed by your non-dominant hand and allows you to dump your weapon in emergency situations.

This Slings has a "shock impact element" which is also to minimize the weapon’s "shock effect" on the operator. These shock impact elements expand forward and contract backward under the weight of the weapon, thereby absorbing a large percentage of the shock impact created by such activities as jumping or dropping from aircraft or buildings onto the ground.
